President Fry Joins University Leaders in Israel

President John A. Fry and a delegation of U.S. University Presidents and Chancellors will visit Israel from July 4-11. Initiated by Project Interchange, an institute of the American Jewish Committee, the trip will include discussions between the U.S. delegation and Israelis on higher education that will focus on the challenges of higher education within Israeli and Palestinian societies.

Members of the delegation include: Chancellor Henry Yang of the University of California - Santa Barbara, Chancellor Holden Thorp of the University of North Carolina and President David Warren of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.

During the visit, Fry will meet with several Israeli university presidents and faculty, government officials, and other leaders. It is an important opportunity for cultural and educational exchange and collaboration with existing Drexel partners and for fostering new relationships in the region.

Drexel has extensive ties to higher education in Israel. Hebrew University and Drexel have partnered to establish a hub for translational research. Drexel has also partnered with the Israel Institute of Technology (the Technion), Ben Gurion University in the Negev, Tel Aviv University, Haifa University and other institutions.
