Lori Doyle Joins Drexel to Head University Communications

Lori Doyle has joined Drexel University as Senior Vice President for University Communications. Doyle will be responsible for the development and implementation of a long-term communications strategy designed to enhance Drexel’s position as a premier comprehensive research university.

This includes media relations, market/image research, branding, advertising, web design and content management, crisis communications, print design and internal communications. She will work closely with colleagues from Drexel’s colleges and schools, Enrollment Management, Institutional Advancement, and other offices to ensure communications and marketing are strategically coordinated.

Doyle comes to Drexel with 25 years experience spanning public relations agencies, academic medicine, corporate communications, and higher education. She spent eight years as Chief Public Affairs Officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, before leaving the university to become Vice President of External Affairs for American Water Works Company, Inc. She returned to Penn in 2001 to lead university communications, reporting to the president of the university.

Prior to 1992, Doyle was general manager of the Philadelphia office of Golin Harris Communications, Inc., one of the top 10 public relations firms in the country. Doyle earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Temple University and a master’s degree in communications management from Ohio University.
