Charitable contributions made to Drexel University by December 31 may help lower your 2011 tax bill. You can make a gift through the mail or online, by check, credit card or by wire transfer of cash or securities. If you wish to donate via credit card to either Drexel or Drexel College of Medicine, you can click here. To receive 2011 tax credit, your online credit card contribution must be submitted by midnight December 31, 2011. If you are mailing in a contribution for calendar year 2011 tax credit, the envelope must be postmarked by December 31, 2011. Please send checks to: Drexel University P.O. Once there you can select either the Drexel or the College of Medicine button to find essential wiring information. If you are donating cash or securities via wire transfer, the wire must be submitted by December 31, 2011, in order to receive your calendar year 2011 tax credit. In all of the above examples, a tax receipt will be mailed to you reflecting a 2011 calendar year contribution if done by December 31, 2011. If you are age 70½ or over, a special opportunity exists to make a direct transfer from your IRA account to Drexel, satisfying your minimum distribution requirement without the amount being treated as taxable income.
