As part of the United States Distance Learning Association celebration of National Distance Learning Week (November 8-12), Drexel University Online will hold an awards ceremony to recognize outstanding faculty. This annual event will recognize those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the field of distance or online learning. NDLW is an annual initiative that generates greater awareness and appreciation for distance learning within the areas of pre-k through 12 education, higher and continuing education, home-schooling, as well as business, corporate, military, government and telehealth markets. About 4.6 million students are currently taking at least one class online. The ceremony will be held Tuesday, November 9, beginning at 9 a.m., at the University Conference Center at the University Club, MacAlister Hall (33rd and Chestnut streets, Philadelphia.Recipients from the ceremony include: -- Online Learning Visionary Award: Dr. Frank Mayadas, founding president of the Sloan Consortium and senior advisor, Alfred P.
