What: A team of Drexel University Digital Media students have developed a system to turn tweets, messages from the Twitter micro-blogging site, into 36 x 62 foot animations projected onto the side of a seven-story building. Using the system, anyone can digitally tag messages on Twitter to be projected onto the building, which will be one of Philadelphia’s largest digital projection venues. Messages can be immediately projected on the building from mobile phones, computer and text messages. The system, called “Social Graffiti,” was developed by students at Drexel's Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design for their senior design project. The students hope the system will be used for university announcements, communicating with fellow students and providing news updates.
