Drexel has had a record-breaking season in 2009. The team is ranked 10th in the nation in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, the highest the Dragons have been slotted in program history. Drexel's 17-2 overall record set a program best for wins in a season while it also marks the first time in team history that the Dragons have captured a conference regular-season title.
Forward Christina Mastropaolo is currently ranked third in the nation in goals with 27 and is tied for second in points with 65. Both are new Drexel single-season records. She has been named the CAA's Player of the Week four times this season. Senior co-captain Carolina Gibernau tied her own school mark with 12 assists in 2009 while junior Susan Ciufo matched her own totals from last season of 19 goals and nine assists when she was a Third Team All-America selection.
