WHAT: Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions will unveil with a ribbon cutting ceremony its new Simulation Clinical Learning Laboratory for radiology technology students. Live actors will pose as patients at the new lab.
•Students interviewing the “patient” actors and positioning them on the x-ray machine.
•Demonstrations of SimMan, SimBaby, Noelle Birthing Simulator (human patient simulators) and the IV arm – all highly interactive tools to help improve their skills.
•A six foot long ribbon will be cut to officially open the simulation lab.

BACKGROUND: The Simulation Lab was built to give students studying health professions an opportunity to practice critical clinical skills with patient actors before joining the health care workforce. The experience will allow students to learn from mistakes prior to caring for actual patients.
