Things to Do in Philly — August 2022
August 12, 2022
Whether you’re visiting the city as the last days of summer go by or you’re in town to help your student move off campus for the end of the 2021–2022 academic year, there’s a lot to explore off-campus.
- Walk through an important historical and cultural artifact at the Johnson House Historic Site, which is one of the only Philly stops on the Underground Railroad open to the public.
- Start at one of the beginnings — and Benjamin Franklin’s beginnings — of Philly history at Franklin Court and Carpenters’ Hall.
- Take in some art of the outside with the Center for Art in Wood.
- Take in some art outside with the OY/YO Sculpture at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History.
- And…take in some movies outside through the Outdoor Movie Screenings.
- How do communities, food systems and art coincide? One way is through the Resistance Garden project from Painted Bride.
