Drexel University has released its 2022 President’s Report.

This year’s theme, “Drexel’s Civic Footprint,” is a reminder that we leave our best mark when we step forward into the future in partnership with our neighbors and for the benefit of our region. As President John Fry has said, “Drexel wins when our community and city thrive, too.”

“More than a decade ago, we took our first steps together toward revitalizing our academic, administrative and campus infrastructure around a bold civic mission,” President Fry wrote in his preamble. “We have since embarked on an even more ambitious path to position Drexel as a national leader in innovation, experiential learning, applied research and civic engagement.”

Many of the accomplishments highlighted in this report were made possible this year by the completion of the Future is a Place We Make Campaign for Drexel. The report also spotlights Drexel’s impact as a research powerhouse, affirmed by the achievement of the coveted Carnegie Classification R1 designation in 2022. The University welcomed an ever higher-achieving class of incoming first-year students who reflect the full diversity of our world. Key new initiatives like the Environmental Collaboratory and the Innovation Engine took root. And the year saw great strides made toward building a home for innovative companies on Drexel’s campus who share our desire to make opportunities for all Philadelphians.
