Dana Remus

Dana Remus will address 2022 graduates of the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law at commencement on Monday, May 23, at the Kimmel Cultural Campus (300 S. Broad Street).

At 10 a.m. the law school will celebrate the class of 2022, which includes 227 graduates. The ceremony will celebrate 160 graduates who will receive a JD, 57 who will receive a Master of Legal Studies and ten who will receive a Master of Laws.

Remus serves as assistant to the president and White House counsel. She previously served as general counsel on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and previously served the Obama Foundation. During the Obama administration, she served as the deputy assistant to the president and deputy counsel for ethics.

Remus is an inaugural faculty member of the Kline School of Law. While a professor of law at the University of North Carolina School of Law, she specialized in legal, judicial ethics and the regulation of the legal profession.

“Dana Remus was one of the first six faculty hired to build the Kline School of Law,” said Daniel Filler, JD, dean of the Kline School of Law. “This law school owes a great debt to Remus, she played a central part in crafting the vision for the law school.”

Previously, Remus clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. and Judge Anthony J. Scirica of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Court.
