MEM/ECE Senior Design Teams Place First in Solar Power "Prototype" Category of Shell Edo-Marathon Challenge
Philadelphia, PA, April 22, 2011 —
Two College of Engineering Senior Design teams competed together the weekend of April 16th in Houston, TX in the Shell Eco-Marathon Challenge. Under the advisement of Brad Layton (MEM) and Adam Fontecchio (ECE) the solar powered car placed first in the Solar Power "Prototype" Category.
The students built the prototype from the ground up in less than a year! Congratulations to: David Ho (MEM), Asaf Erlich (ECE), Tim Ker, Alexey Leontyev (ECE), Shuiqiang Lin (MEM), Mingming Liu (ECE), Andrey Shum(ECE), Vincent Tancredi (MEM), John Toal (MEM), Ishin Ueyama (MEM), and Congee Yeung.
The team was recently featured on Wired.com.
