Dr. Stephanie King Honored by Ovarian Cancer Foundation

October 1, 2008

Stephanie King, MD, associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and chief of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, was honored September 27, 2008, by the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation.

King received the Angela Carlino Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research/Care Award during a gala at Amtrak's 30th Street Station.

Ovarian cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death among women, affecting one out of every 55 women. When detected early, the survival rate is 90 to 95 percent. The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation advocates for early diagnostic testing and more effective treatments, and raises funds to advance research.

Congratulations to Dr. King!
