  • Outcomes of Nighttime Refusal of Admission to the Medical Intensive Care Unit: The Role of the Intensivist in Triage
    This project specifically looks at the impact of the critical-care-trained physician in the outcomes for patients who are denied ICU admission.
  • A Multi-Faceted Intervention to Improve Resident Awareness and Practice in Diagnosing and Treating ICU Delirium
    This project aims to provide medical housestaff with an evidence-based approach to recognizing and treating delirium in critically-ill patients through a standardized education program.
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit Boarders
    The effect on patient outcomes of boarding patients in distant critical care units. This project seeks to measure the outcomes for and identify the characteristics of MICU patients who are housed in distant units.
  • Severe Maternal Asthma Exacerbations Among Inner-City Women: Identifying Risk Factors with Evidence-Based Intervention
    This is a grant-supported study seeking to provide asthma care to our urban, inner-city population of women that is integrated with their pre-natal care, thereby improving patient outcomes.
