Medical and Healthcare Simulation (MSMS) How to Apply

Admissions Criteria

Each student will be assessed holistically by the program committee based on the requirements. To be considered for acceptance into the program, the qualified candidate should have the following:

  • Official transcript from a completed four-year bachelor's degree, nursing degree program or equivalent with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Three letters of evaluation from colleagues who can attest to your experience in simulation or potential for success in this program.
  • Official release of any standardized test, such as GRE or MCAT if taken.
  • Experience in health care and a demonstrated commitment to the field.
  • Successful completion of a background check and professional license verification.
  • Additional experience, including publications, teaching evaluations and specialized training will also be considered as criteria for acceptance into the program.

Application Process

All admissions materials must be received before the admission committee will review the application. For your convenience we have created a downloadable application checklist [PDF] that outlines all of the required application materials for the MSMS program.

To apply for the program:

  • Complete and submit the Graduate Admission Application:
    Applicants may only apply to one program. All documents submitted by you or on your behalf in support of this application for admission to Drexel University become the property of the University, and will under no circumstances be released to you or any other party. Please note, an application fee of $75 U.S. is required.
  • Submit the $75 application fee online
  • Provide official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Send an official copy of your transcript(s) to:

  • If you have taken the GRE, MCAT, or other standardized tests, please send an official copy of all testing scores to Drexel University. The University school code is 2194 for the GRE. MCAT scores should be submitted through the AAMC website (see detailed instructions below).

Information for International Applicants

The Master of Science in Medical and Healthcare Simulation program (MSMS) welcomes international applicants. All admissions materials must be received before the admission committee will review the application. To apply for the program:

  • Complete and submit the Graduate Admission Application:
    Applicants may only apply to one program. All documents submitted by you or on your behalf in support of this application for admission to Drexel University become the property of the University, and will under no circumstances be released to you or any other party. Please note, an application fee of $75 U.S. is required.
  • Submit the $75 application fee online.
  • Transcripts
    • Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution or an international equivalent. Please provide original transcripts in the language of the country of origin and an English translation of the original transcript.
    • Transcripts must be evaluated and transcribed by a credentialing service such as World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. or International Consultants of Delaware.
    • Transcripts should be sent to:

  • Standardized Tests
    • Applicants should have taken the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam and demonstrated proficiency in English with a total score of at least 90.
    • Standardized test scores are not required, however if they have been taken all scores must be submitted. If you have taken the GRE, MCAT or other standardized tests, please send an official copy of all testing scores to Drexel University. The University school code is 2194 for the GRE. MCAT scores should be submitted through the AAMC website (see detailed instructions below).
  • Release Form
    Sign the information release form [PDF], scan and email it to MSsim@drexelmed.edu.
  • Visas
    Students are required to have a visitor's B2 visa secured in order to travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the three one-week on-campus practicums.

Financial Information

Tuition information for the Medical and Healthcare Simulation program is available on the Drexel Central website.

Financial aid is available from many sources, such as the federal government and private organizations, or from the University itself.
