Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies Collaborative Graduate Council

Continued evolution, growth and competitiveness of graduate school offerings necessitates constant mindfulness of the quality of existing and future programs and increased attention to innovation, creativity and creating compelling value for matriculates. The newly created Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies in the College of Medicine seeks to collaborate and engage with graduate programs in the other ten colleges and schools at Drexel to continue to focus on meeting the needs and expectations of students in the Graduate School of the College of Medicine now and into the future. It is with this context and because the Office of Graduate Studies on the University City Campus believes in this engagement as well, that the Collaborative Graduate Council was convened.

Activities of the Council will include:

  • Ensuring that policies and procedures of the graduate programs in the College of Medicine are consistent with other graduate programs at Drexel and vice versa
  • Fostering increased interactions across Drexel colleges/schools to enhance academic offerings and potentially lead to the development of new, unique and distinctive programs that distinguish a Drexel graduate education
  • Discussing and seeking ways to systematically evaluate the success of the graduate programs in the College of Medicine and establish an ongoing mechanism for performance benchmarking and improvement

This collaborative effort is directed at enhancing the graduate student experience, with an emphasis on job placement, providing regionally unique academic offerings, and attracting the brightest, most ambitious and entrepreneurial applicants.
