Drexel University's English Language Center started the Readers' Theater Alliance in 2014. Domestic and international students, alumni, faculty, and professional staff come together to learn from each other about the hurt and the harm that prejudice, stereotyping, and judging can do to our communities. We participate in a readers’ theater performance to draw attention to the problems that have an emotional and physical impact on the lives of the people around us. Our goal is to inspire empathy, patience and understanding, if not active engagement. We believe that the true heroes of our times are people who speak out against discrimination of any kind and reach out to those who just want to be heard or need a helping hand.
