Faculty Titles Policy

The proper format for use of faculty title is: name, professorial rank, academic/administrative title (if any), department name, Drexel University College of Medicine.

The faculty title may not be used in connection with any political, community, or philanthropic activity or fundraising.

A non-compensated faculty member may use his or her faculty title for identification for scholarly or educational purposes or in connection with the faculty member’s assigned College duties or on the faculty member’s resume or curriculum vitae.

A faculty member may not use his or her faculty title in communications with private practice patients or when communicating with other health care professionals about private clinical or patient care activities.

Use of a faculty title for any commercial purpose (such as endorsement of medical products or services) or in connection with the faculty member’s private professional, clinical or patient care activities or practice is not permitted. A faculty member may not use his or her faculty title or appointment for purposes of advertising or marketing any private professional or commercial activity or practice in newspapers, journals, television and radio, telephone yellow pages or other directories, or websites.
