The Drexel Master's in Mathematics degree program provides a rigorous foundation in graduate-level mathematics. Students are exposed to a diverse set of research areas within both applied and pure mathematics, and often collaborate with peers and faculty on grant-supported projects. MS in Mathematics students are encouraged to attend and participate in the department's vibrant seminar and colloquium series, as well as the SIAM (Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) student chapter.

Curriculum

Core courses include:

• Linear Algebra and Matrix Analysis
• Principles of Analysis I,II
• Real Analysis I
• Complex Analysis I
• Abstract Algebra I

In the second year, students may take advanced coursework in areas such as:

• Ordinary Differential Equations
• Partial Differential Equations
• Numerical Analysis
• Applied Probability and Statistics
• Mathematical Neuroscience

There are no thesis, language, or special examination requirements for the Master's degree in Mathematics. Financial support from the mathematics department is not available for Master's in Mathematics candidates.

How to Apply

Applicants interested in pursuing the Master’s in Mathematics degree should use the online application found on the Office of Graduate Admissions website. The application deadline for the fall quarter for a Master of Science in Math is January 15th. The GRE general/subject test is optional.
