Research in the Nanomaterials Group, directed by Distinguished University and Charles T. and Ruth M. Bach Professor Yury Gogotsi, is focused on the fundamental and applied aspects of the synthesis and characterization of MXenes (two-dimensional carbides and nitrides of transition metals) and other nanomaterials for energy, electronic and biomedical applications. The group discovers, develops and studies new nanomaterials and works closely with industry with the goal of significantly decreasing the time from discovery to commercial application for new materials.
