Materials Students Showcase Research at Emerging Graduate Scholars Conference

Drexel Materials graduate students made a strong showing at the 2nd Annual Emerging Graduate Scholars Conference on Thursday, April 19.

Hosted by the Graduate Student Association (GSA) in partnership with the Graduate College and Office of Research, the conference included graduate student poster presentations, oral presentations and a three-minute thesis competition. Drexel Materials PhD candidate Ariana Levitt, who serves as GSA Vice President of Academic Affairs, and alumna Katie Van Aken, who serves on the GSA Board of Trustees, played key roles in organizing the conference. Eleven Drexel Materials graduate students participated in the conference, with three securing presentation awards. These students include:

This full-day conference provides opportunities for graduate students to showcase their research to those outside of their academic discipline, participate in professional development and career workshops, and network with colleagues and professionals across diverse fields. The Emerging Graduate Scholars Conference also offers the University community the opportunity to learn more about the innovative and problem-solving research of Drexel's brightest and most promising graduate students.
