The Department of Materials Science and Engineering was well represented at the ASM International Philadelphia Liberty Bell Chapter’s C.F. "Chuck" Burns Graduate Student Poster Contest held Thursday, April 16, 2015.
Winners, all from Drexel Materials, are as follows:
- 1st Place ($500): PhD student Katie Jo Sunday (advisor: Mitra Taheri)
- 2nd Place ($300): PhD student Katie Van Aken (advisor: Yury Gogotsi)
- 3rd Place ($200): BS/MS student Matthias Agne (advisor: Michel Barsoum)

In addition, three undergraduate scholarships of $1,500 each were awarded to Drexel Materials students. The scholarship winners were selected from a pool of 15 applicants. The recipients of this year’s scholarships are BS student Alex McBride, BS/MS student Christine Palmer, and BS/MS student Ziyin Huang (advisor: Chris Li).
