Ph.D. Candidate Kristy Jost’s Research Featured in d&m Magazine

Ph.D. candidate Kristy Jost (advisor: Yury Gogotsi) was featured in the Spring 2013 issue of d&m Magazine for her work to develop "smart" and electronic textiles in the Shima Seiki Haute Technology Laboratory at the Drexel University ExCITe Center. Kristy’s research combines high tech fashion design with advanced techniques in materials science and nanotechnology to create textiles capable of energy storage. The Shima Seiki Haute Technology Laboratory provides the technology that allows Kristy to develop and test fabric embedded supercapacitors.

On the strength of her research, Kristy was one of 550 young researchers from around the world selected to attend this year's Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, taking place from June 30 - July 5 in Lindau, Germany.

d&m Magazine is produced annually by seniors in the Design & Merchandizing program of the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design to “provide a smart, compelling, and insightful window into our lives as members of the Drexel Community, the city of Philadelphia, and the fascinating world of Design & Merchandising.”
