Ph.D. Student Daniel Satko Receives Award at Drexel Research Day 2012

Ph.D. student Daniel Satko (advisors: Surya Kalidindi and Roger Doherty) received a poster award at the 2012 Drexel University Research Day, which took place on Thursday, April 19, 2012.  The annual event is open to all members of the Drexel community and celebrates research, innovation, scholarship, and creativity at Drexel.

Satko won in the Graduate Student Physical Science and Engineering category for his poster, "Exploring Statistical Microstructure-Corrosion Property Linkages in 5xxx Aluminum Alloys."

In addition, a student co-advised by Professor Wei-Heng Shih received a poster award in the Graduate Student Bio and Biomedical category.  Giang Au, co-advised by affiliated faculty member Professor Wan Shih and Professor Wei-Heng Shih is the co-author with Linette Mejias, Vanlila K. Swami, Ari D. Brooks, Wei-Heng Shih, and Wan Shih of the award-winning poster "Assessing breast cancer margin using an aqueous-quantum-dots-enabled molecular probe."
