Nano Materials Group Research Featured in Chemistry World and Published in Nature Nanotechnology

Work by the Nano Materials Group (advisor: Yury Gogotsi) has been featured in Chemistry World and published in Nature Nanotechnology.

The subject of a talk presented by Ph.D. student Ioannis Neitzel at the Fall 2010 Materials Research Society meeting in Boston, MA was featured in Chemistry World on December 8, 2010.  The piece, "Nanodiamond encrusted bones," focuses on the use of tiny diamonds to reinforce biodegradable polymers.  This research work was published in the January 2011 issue of Biomaterials ("Fluorescent PLLA-nanodiamond composites for bone tissue engineering," by Qingwei Zhang, Vadym N. Mochalin, Ioannis Neitzel, Isabel Y. Knoke, Jingjia Han, Christopher A. Klug, Jack G. Zhou, Peter I. Lelkes, Yury Gogotsi).

Additionally, a paper by several Nano Materials Group members has been published in Nature Nanotechnology (available online December 12, 2010).  The paper, "Multifunctional carbon-nanotube cellular endoscopes," by Riju Singhal, Zulfiya Orynbayeva, Ramalingam Venkat Kalyana Sundaram, Jun Jie Niu, Sayan Bhattacharyya, Elina A. Vitol, Michael G. Schrlau, Elisabeth S. Papazoglou, Gary Friedman, and Yury Gogotsi, highlights the results of work supported by a Nanoscale Interdisciplinary Research Team National Science Foundation grant and the W. M.
