Public Service & Leadership Institute
With student learning always at the forefront of our programming, the Lindy Center offers myriad reflective opportunities as an interdisciplinary approach to exploring and analyzing issues of public concern. Drawing from community-based experiences through the Lindy Center and their academic disciplines, students from colleges and schools throughout the university can come together to grapple with some of society's most complex issues and to hone leadership skills.
The Lindy Center’s Social Justice Series is a workshop series rooted in the Social Change Model of Leadership Development. The implementation and cultivation of positive social change within organizations and communities is at the heart of the social change model. Through PSLI, participants reflect and build on their civic engagement experiences within the context of the model’s “7 C’s:”
Individual Values
1. Consciousness of Self
2. Congruence
3. Commitment
Group Values
4. Collaboration
5. Common Purpose
6. Controversy with Civility
Society/Community Values
7. Citizenship
Workshops are open to any Drexel student, however, students participating in the Lindy Center's leadership programs (i.e. DCS, Lindy Scholars,, America Reads/Counts) are required to attend at least one workshop per month.
Below is a list of past workshops and trainings presented by the Lindy Center. If you are interested in hosting one of these presentations for your student organization or group, please contact Ryan O’Connor at rjo45@drexel.edu.
