Highlighted Student Involvement

Kristin Cuprzinski Kristin Cuprzinski
A third year student of LeBow and the Pennoni Honors College, this is Kristin’s second year serving as a Drexel Community Scholar (DCS). In her role as a DCS, Kristin regularly serves with the Mercy-Douglas Residences in West Philadelphia. Mercy Douglas is a housing development committed to providing clean and safe housing for seniors, low/moderate-income families and some disabled residents. In order to enrich their experience, Kristin recruits and leads fellow Drexel students in teaching computer skills and competency to the residents of Mercy Douglas.

In addition to her work as a DCS, Kristin has been an asset to the Lindy Scholars Program. Two Saturdays each month, the Lindy Scholars (150 public middle school students) come to campus and have an opportunity to engage in fun and educational activities that are developed and facilitated by Kristin, with the help of her National Honors Fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi.

Bill NeilBill Neil
Bill, a senior in Business Administration, serves as the DCS for LIFT Philadelphia. In order to generate greater Drexel student involvement at LIFT while fostering community among current volunteers, Bill established a Drexel Chapter of LIFT as a recognized student organization. Additionally, as the treasurer of WKDU, Bill strategically leveraged the talents and skills of the club’s membership in order to receive a grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and the Lindy Center to support economic recovery efforts in Philadelphia.
