A Look Back at the First-Year Experience

Although I am only a rising sophomore, I have much to say about my first year at Drexel. It was a year filled with unexpected opportunities and support from the Bennett S. LeBow College of Business community.

These opportunities have not only allowed me to grow both academically and professionally but have also allowed me to expand my network and create new friendships at Drexel.

During that time, I was able to take part in a business-focused global classroom where I collaborated and worked with students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences on a pitch presentation. This allowed me to gain global networking and teamwork experience. In March, I traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of the LeBow Global Learning Communities annual trip, which included site visits to the Lincoln Memorial and the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. We also got the chance to network with Drexel alumni at a networking dinner.

During spring break, I participated in LeBow's spring Intensive Course Abroad in Zurich, Switzerland, focused on Swiss business culture. This trip allowed me to meet many new people and learn about Swiss culture. If you had asked me when I first started at Drexel what my plans were for my first year, it definitely would not have included going to Switzerland. When I first heard about the trip, I knew it was a great opportunity; however, I didn't envision myself actually going. Members from the LeBow undergraduate academic advising team fortunately encouraged me to apply.

Looking back on my first year, I am so happy I was able to participate in these opportunities and so grateful for the support and encouragement I received from the LeBow faculty and professional staff. These opportunities have not only allowed me to grow both academically and professionally but have also allowed me to expand my network and create new friendships at Drexel. I can't wait to see what the rest of my time at Drexel has in store for me!
