Wharton Economist Joins Professor Robert Field’s Blog in Inquirer

Professor Mark V. Pauly of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania has joined the growing ranks of contributors to “The Field Clinic,” a blog launched by Professor Robert Field and published by the Philadelphia Inquirer. 

A professor of health care management, business economics and public policy at Wharton, Pauly’s first blog contribution arguing that Medicaid recipients should receive options similar to those that exist for Medicare beneficiaries. 

The blog, created in 2012, explores a wide range of topics in health care delivery, policy and law. 

Field has recruited numerous thought leaders in health policy to contribute to the blog, including: 

  • Dr. Jeffrey Brenner,  founder of the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers and recipient of a 2013 MacArthur Award
  • Andy Carter, president and CEO of the Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania
  • Dr. David Grande, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania
  • Antoinette Kraus, director of the Pennsylvania Health Access Network
  • Laval Miller-Wilson, executive director of the Pennsylvania Health Law Project
