Professor Richard Frankel Assesses Freeh Report's Effect on Penn State's Potential Damage Liability

The Freeh report, an investigative report on Penn State’s handling of longstanding molestation allegations against former football coach Jerry Sandusky, has left many speculating what the report could end up costing Penn State in lawsuit settlements. 

In an article on Yahoo! Sports, Professor Richard Frankel claimed that while university insurance might cover the cost of a large jury award, it would not cover the cost of a punitive damage award resulting from a finding that high-level officials knew what was going on. 

Frankel studies the intersection of civil rights, civil procedure and federal courts. He is the founder of the law school's Appellate Litigation Clinic
