May 03, 2011

In an article highlighting prominent speakers at law school commencement ceremonies, The National Law Journal noted that Betty Anne Waters will appear at the school's upcoming graduation on May 19.

The Providence Journal also announced Water's appearance at the law school's commencement and noted that she will receive an honorary degree.

In 2001, Waters successfully overturned the murder conviction of her brother and enabled him to walk out of prison after 18.5 years. The remarkable story of Waters' efforts on her brother’s behalf became the subject of the 2010 film, "Conviction," starring Hilary Swank. For more about Waters, click here.
