Professor Deborah Gordon's Scholarship Showcased in 'Trusts & Estates'

February 13, 2012

Trusts & Estates magazine, in its annual “Review of Reviews,” highlights an article by Professor Deborah Gordon that appeared last year in the Seattle University Law Review.

Reviewer Conrad Teitell, a nationally recognized expert on estate planning, praised Gordon’s work in her article, “Reflecting on the Language of Death.”

Gordon’s article argues that expressive language incorporates the individual’s voice and also aids in the interpretation of dry, technical language that can appear in wills.

Teitell called the article “fascinating,” and said that even the 254 footnotes make for an entertaining read.

The “Review of Reviews” (subscription required) is a feature of Trusts & Estates magazine that highlights a handful of scholarly articles appearing in student-edited law journals each year.
