Professor Anil Kalhan Presents at Symposium on Civil Liberties After 9/11

On Sept. 9, Professor Anil Kalhan was a panelist at a symposium on the legal fallout from 9/11 that was held at New York Law School.

Kalhan appeared on a panel with Yale Law School Professor Muneer Ahmad, University of Chicago Professor Geoffrey Stone, U.S. House Intelligence Committee Senior Counsel Jamil N. Jaffer, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Sigal Mandelker and Hunter College Human Rights Program Director Joanne Mariner. The panel explored “National Security and Civil Liberties: A Decade of Striking a Delicate Balance, or a False Choice,” moderated by American Constitution Society Executive Director Caroline Frederickson.

The symposium also featured presentations by former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo, former New York Times reporter Linda Greenhouse and American Civil Liberties Union Executive Director Anthony Romero.
