Surreal Artwork A New Addition to Legal Research Center

March 22, 2010

Bibliothéque Idéale 2, a panorama of a fantastical library, adds a touch of the surreal to the entrance of the Earle Mack School of Law Legal Research Center.

Donated by Ambassador Earle Mack, the hyper-photograph is the work of Jean-Francois Rauzier, a French photographer, painter and sculptor. Rauzier’s 7-by-9 foot image, an artful and precise blend of photography and illustration, was assembled using hundreds of close-up photos taken with a telephoto lens and then digitally manipulated.

Ambassador Mack, who graduated from Drexel University in 1959, was a centennial inductee to The Drexel 100, the university’s most prestigious alumni society in 1992. In 2006, he received an honorary Drexel doctorate.
