Full-Time Financial Aid Advisor Now Based at Law School

July 15, 2010

Students, prospective students and recent graduates of the Earle Mack School of Law can now get help navigating the process of financing their education, summer opportunities, post-graduation debt and bar exam costs from an advisor located at the school.

Mary DeRivera, an assistant director of financial aid with the Drexel University Financial Aid Office, is working at the law school on a full-time basis. DeRivera, who previously worked at the law school just five hours each week, said she will now be able to offer students and prospective students much more assistance with researching their financial aid options. In addition to assisting students, DeRivera will work closely with the offices of Student Affairs, Admissions and Career and Professional Development.

A graduate of Loyola University Maryland, she received her JD from the University of Maryland School of Law. She clerked for Judge Joseph L. McGlynn Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She practiced law for 12 years at the U.S. EPA Region 3 Office of Regional Counsel, specializing in federal grant law, the National Environmental Policy Act and Clean Water Act litigation.
