Barry Furrow Joins Catholic Health East Board April 28, 2010 Barry Furrow, professor of law and director of the Health Law Program, has been appointed to the Catholic Health East Board of Directors. One of the nation’s largest Catholic health systems, CHE includes 34 acute care hospitals, four long-term acute care hospitals, 25 freestanding and hospital-based long-term care facilities, 14 assisted-living facilities, four continuing care retirement communities, eight behavioral health and rehabilitation facilities, 37 home health/hospice agencies, and numerous ambulatory and community-based health agencies. The organization is based in Newtown Square, Pa. and employs more than 54,000 people.
