Latin American Urban Health Symposium
About the symposium
The first Latin American Urban Health Symposium will bring together researchers, practitioners, and policy makers focused on health in Latin American cities. By focusing on the Latin American context and policy climate, the symposium will be an opportunity to share policy-relevant research findings and lessons learned from the region, discuss evidence-based policies and interventions that have been proven to improve health in cities, and network with experts from across the region.
Who is the symposium for?
All those motivated to explore new ways of thinking about cities and new uses of data to make urban environments more health supportive should attend the Symposium.
Urbanization, and the associated mix of opportunities and challenges for health, are pervasive across the globe. Research and data from Latin America presented during this symposium will shed light on ways that cities worldwide can become healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable.
International partnerships are key to accelerate the learning that will inform work within and across cities, and provide an evidence base for global urban health improvement. We welcome participants who can enrich the discussion based on a diversity of perspectives, including those from different career stages, sectors, and geographic areas.
