The International Dragon Families group (IDF) was started at Drexel during 2004 especially for the families of our students and scholars.
The group was created in an effort to make their transition to life in the United States easier, more interesting and enjoyable. We at Drexel want the families’ stay to be as pleasant, enjoyable, enriching and meaningful as possible.
Members meet once a month for a variety of activities and once a week to learn and practice English. Current members of the group come from countries such as Slovakia, Serbia and Montenegro, China, France and Nepal and include spouses from professional backgrounds such as the police force, teaching, medicine and others.
Since its start, the IDF group has participated in many fun activities such as visiting and lunching at the Reading Terminal Market, presenting their various cultures during International Spring Festival, and organizing a holiday party to celebrate “American” style.
Spouses of our students and scholars are welcome to join us for weekly English practice or once a month for other activities. Contact International Dragon Families group (IDF) at idf@drexel.edu or ISSS for the date and location of the next meeting.
