Network Service in Campus Buildings and VPN was restored to regular operation for All Drexel University Locations on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 6:48:08 AM. For approximately 15 to 25 minutes during the advertised maintenance window, wired and wireless network service and IP telephones in campus buildings will be unavailable. _____ The VPN service, vpn.drexel.edu, will also be unavailable. _____ Services provided by Drexel IT, such as email, Drexel One, BB Learn, and the university web site will not be interrupted, these services will remain available from off-campus. _____ During this maintenance the Network Operations Center staff will apply critical vendor supplied security updates to core network equipment.

In most cases this should not be user visible.

Internet Service Interruption

Internet and VPN Service was restored to regular operation for all locations on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1:08 AM. During this time the campus network will be isolated from the public Internet. _____ This means campus services such as VPN, Drexel One, the university website (drexel.edu), BB Learn and all other campus services will not be accessible from off-campus. This includes services provided by Drexel IT or by any other college or department servers connected to the campus network. Access to Office 365 email will remain available from off-campus during this period. _____ For users that may be on-campus during this maintenance window - access to the Internet from the Drexel network will not be available and this includes access to reach Office 365 email. Access to other campus services should remain available as long as those services do not require Internet access to function. Also note, mobile phones will be able to access Office 365 email when connected by cellular data rather than Wi-Fi. _____ The maintenance work has concluded. FS1 (most departmental shares) experienced an unplanned outage, due to a software upgrade that occurred previously in the day. Corrective actions have been taken to prevent this issue from re-occurring. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
