End of Support for Windows XP and XP Mode
December 3, 2013
On April 8, 2014, Microsoft will officially end support for the Windows XP operating system, as well as XP Mode.
After that date, computers using XP or XP Mode will no longer receive security updates, patches, or online technical assistance, and any XP-specific applications they are running will no longer receive support from their vendors. Once support ends, all XP installations will become highly vulnerable to viruses, compromise, and theft of personal information.
It is imperative that you upgrade all XP installations in your areas to Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (or Windows 8 if appropriate) immediately. For more information about end-of-support deadlines, see the Windows Support Lifecycle fact sheet.
