"Mystery Shopper" and Job Posting Scams

These scams attempt to steal money, information, or both. They prey on people who are looking for side work or part-time jobs, and send unsolicited offers via email. They are hoping the recipient will accept, provide information the thief can resale, or a bank account the thief can overdraw under the guise of "depositing" the victim's paychecks.

Delete these unsolicited emails unanswered. If you really are looking for a job, use the proper channels: job sites, career development centers, job fairs, etc.

Mystery Shopper Email Scam
Approach unsolicited mystery shopper ads with caution. Information is just as valuable as money to a scammer.
Income Email Scam
Part-time work email solicitations prey on people who need a little extra money. They intend theft of money or information. If you are looking for a job, use reputable job sites and channels.
Part-Time Work Email Scam
Be very suspicious of unsolicited job offers. If you are looking for work, use appropriate sites and resources.
