Drexel Learn Content Editor

The content editor in Learn allows you to format text, insert equations, hyperlinks, and tables, as well as attach different types of files. Sometimes the text editor box will be collapsed and you will not initially see all the options. There are two views:

  • The simple view (collapsed to just the first row of icons) contains the most-used formatting functions.
  • The advanced view contains every available formatting and object attachment function (all three rows).
    • The advanced view also contains an accessibility checker, as well as a tool for pasting code snippets.

To toggle the advanced view on and off, click on the Show More/Show Less icon located at the end of the first row of icons.

The content editor in Learn has a simple and advanced view that can be toggled

Hints and Tips

The content editor supports copying and pasting from external sources.  When pasting from an external source, users will be presented with an option to Keep Formatting or Remove Formatting.  When electing to remove formatting, some formatting, such as formatting that is handled by basic html including bold, underline, italics, bullets, lists, etc., will still remain.  Selecting the option to keep formatting will attempt to retain as much of the original formatting as possible.

It is always recommended to make a copy of your content prior to pressing submit, to prevent any loss of work due to connectivity issues.
