Using Our Lists for Email Distribution
What Are Broadcast Emails?
Broadcast emails are emails distributed faculty, staff, and/or students by IRT. IRT functions as a message distributor, not a message writer (except for tech alerts and the Technology Update Newsletter), and maintains automatically-updated email lists for this purpose.
Any messages we receive as plain text for distribution will be formatted into one of our default HTML templates. You can craft your own HTML; more information about this option can be found in the HTML Guide.
Broadcast emails can be distributed in one of two ways:
Using IRT's Lists
If you have a message that you would like us to distribute for you, please see our procedures.
Using IRT's "Special" Lists
If you provide IRT with an Excel list of addresses, then we can send your message for you using a "special" empty list. This service is especially useful if you hit the mail server's recipient limit, and can't send the message.
