Viewer Role Enrollment Procedure

There is a specialized role in the current Drexel Learning Management System (LMS) for those who need to review courses; the Viewer role. Its purpose is to enable faculty and staff to view content in a course, but without access to add, delete, or modify material or view grades. Since 2008, the Provost’s Office has expressly prohibited adding non-registered students to any LMS-based course unless authorized and approved by the Registrar’s Office. This applies to this Viewer role as well. Requests for Viewer access should be made by the course instructor to itg@drexel.edu. If the request involves a student, the instructor of record should submit a request to the Registrar's Office. If approved, the Registrar will contact the ITG to have the Viewer enrollment processed.

Further, Viewer enrollments are not permanent in Learn-based courses. A process is run on the first Friday of every month that removes all Viewer enrollments older than 90 days, excluding current term courses.
