2015 - 2016 Challenges

    • Work closely with the colleges to develop/adapt the orientation for new online students.
      • Research and revise orientation based on data-driven evidence to improve the student orientation experience.
    • Review data on student challenges.  Prioritize the urgent challenges that contribute to retention problems.  Recommend immediate and near-term solutions.
    • Assess the 24/7 tech support capabilities in terms of student needs.

2015 - 2016 Challenges

    • Collaborate with Drexel offices involved with training to design and implement the AY 2015-2016 & 2016-2017 professional development calendar for faculty and staff. The calendar should include a mix of national and local perspectives using a variety of training formats to account for learning preferences.
    • Prioritize best practices in online teaching and student learning.
    • Update the online faculty training with the SoE.  Create a certificate recognized by the Provost’s Office.  Collaborate with Faculty Senate and Dr. Janet Fleetwood.
    • Promote opportunities for faculty research and research funding.

  • Create a plan that identifies a concrete strategy for faculty at a distance to engage

        with campus colleagues, faculty senate, committees,  and events.

  • Identify key strategies/practices to ensure seamless participation for geographically remote faculty.

2015 - 2016 Challenges

  • Partner with the communications committee to develop a comprehensive list of accessibility workshops for faculty, staff and administrators to take place during the 2015-2016 & 2016-2017 academic year. The workshop offerings will include the current online courses, the LADDER Guide, and providing federal, state, and local laws to Drexel constituents.
  • Monitor impending release of new ADA guidelines for online programs and websites.
