Bachelor of Science/MBA Accelerated Program
Individuals with an MBA degree are always in demand. Those who can offer an additional expertise in the fast growing field of hospitality, culinary arts, and food science increase their marketability significantly.
Drexel’s BS/MBA offers select candidates an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science and an MBA degree simultaneously. The result is a powerful, nationally recognized credential from one of the country’s most established providers of higher education.
BS/MBA candidates can earn their credential in five years and choose an undergraduate major to match their career goals in one of the three following disciplines:
- Culinary Arts
- Culinary Science
- Hospitality Management
This accelerated degree program is ideal for academically qualified students who are interested in a management and leadership. Students enjoy the best of Drexel’s unique benefits and participate in two co-operative placements (for their undergraduate and graduate coursework) that require six months of full-time work in a position related to their field of interest.
Undergraduate coursework follows Drexel’s signature interdisciplinary, collaborative approach that encourages students to become problem-solving leaders who can work in a team. A balance of rigorous academics and practical training in Drexel’s state-of-the-art facilities, including its professional kitchens and student-run Academic Bistro prepares students to tackle the many challenges they will confront in the real world.
During their final year, students earn an MBA from Drexel’s LeBow College of Business and acquire the skills of strategic management, managerial finance, international business, entrepreneurship, leadership, and ethics. When applied to the technological and practical expertise they have acquired at undergraduate level, students’ academic accomplishment translates to an exceptional qualification, preparing them for a high level, executive career.
Drexel’s accelerated BS/MBA program is a rigorous program that enables select students to earn their undergraduate degree and an MBA concurrently. Students can choose one of three disciplines as their undergraduate major:
During their fifth year, students pursue an accelerated one-year MBA from Drexel’s LeBow College of Business that includes a six-month paid co-op placement. The graduate portion of the program requires a completed and approved MBA Plan of Study.
The MBA Plan of Study requires 51 credits to award an MBA with a single concentration. Each student will be required to meet with the graduate advisor during their summer start term to develop a Plan of Study to ensure an on-time graduation and that all MBA requirements are met.
The Plan of Study and courses required each term will vary depending on course waivers granted, desired area of concentration and courses.
In addition to accelerated B.S./M.B.A. the following options are offered:

- Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts with a Minor in Entrepreneurship/MBA
- Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts with a Minor in Marketing/MBA
- Bachelor of Science in Culinary Science with a Minor in Business/MBA
- Bachelor of Science in Culinary Science with a Minor in Entrepreneurship/MBA
- Bachelor of Science in Culinary Science with a Minor in Marketing/MBA
- Bachelor of Science in Culinary Science with a Concentration in Science/MBA
- Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with a Minor in Business/MBA
