Professor Ambrose is an instructor in the undergraduate and graduate programs for Drexel University’s Hospitality Management department. He joined Drexel in 2013, after a successful 30-year career working in casinos and gaming, and he brings a wealth of executive-level management experience into the classroom.

Professor Ambrose’s experience includes casino game floor design, casino gaming equipment evaluation, slot machine installation, set-up and casino floor installation, analyzing game performance, budgets, hiring, purchasing, vendor relations, and the development of new casino property short-and long-term goals and critical planning paths for single and multi-property casino design. As corporate Vice President of Slots, (2006-2010) he was part of a development team for casino design, game purchase and installation at Indiana-Live Casino, now known as Indiana Grand Casino in Shelbyville, Indiana. He also held the position of Executive Director of Slot and Marketing Operations for the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City from 2000-2007. There he managed departments, guest service initiatives and employee education. Prior to this position he was part of the Tropicana gaming management team from 1987-2000.

Professor Ambrose instructs courses in casino management, casino marketing, casino law, current issues in gaming, gaming history, hotel operations, customer service and hospitality marketing. He continually collaborates with industry professionals to make the connection between the classroom and the industry. Through research, publications, class lectures, guest speakers, and field trips Professor Ambrose is able to bring his expansive professional insight and strong industry connections to the students.

Professor Ambrose also previously instructed at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rowan University Graduate Program and Burlington County College Hospitality Program in New Jersey. He has also authored and published several articles in casino trade publications and currently produces monthly editorial copy for Casino Life (UK).  He is a former member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Casino Enterprise Management Magazine and is presently a diversity advisory board member for the Philly “Live” Casino Hotel project in Philadelphia.
