How will my NEA know if he/she is in the system?

Affiliate/Volunteer Faculty, Affiliate Staff, Affiliate Residents:  Notified by the Office of Faculty Affairs to pick-up their accounts.

DUCOM Residents: Processed as a part of their onboarding, which is coordinated with the GME office.  If they do not have access, please have them contact their coordinator in the GME office.

"Regular" NEAs: The Department Administrators have access to their Departmental Roster in Web*Salary.  The NEA appears on the Departmental Roster the morning after it is processed.  When the NEA appears on your roster, he/she is able to pick up his/her accounts.

How does my NEA pick up his/her accounts?

NEAs activate their accounts in the same manner as paid employees.  First, they should visit the Computer Accounts Management site and select “New to Drexel” on the left to activate their Drexel accounts.  After they successfully activated their Drexel account, they can contact the COM IT Technical Support Desk at 215-762-1999 to activate their DUCOM accounts.

Does a NEA have an end date?

Yes, "Regular" NEAs have a one year appointment.  They must be reappointed annually to continue to receive access to system resources.   You can see the end dates are listed in the Departmental Roster on Web*Salary.  Please make every effort to notify HRIS of NEA extension before the expiration date to ensure no loss of account access. 

Affiliate/Volunteer Faculty, Affiliate Staff, Affiliate Residents and DUCOM Residents do not have end dates as their appointment is contingent upon the affiliation agreement and/or their affiliation status.

How does a Drexel Student, Faculty, or Professional Staff gain access to DUCOM resources?

Do not complete a NEA Form for a Drexel University Student or DU faculty or professional staff member to obtain access to DUCOM system resources.  Please contact the COM IT Technical Support Desk at 215-762-1999 or drexelmedsupport@drexelmed.edu to request that a manual account be created.  Note that this request must come from a person with current, valid drexelmed credentials who is willing to be listed as the “Responsible Employee” for the requested account.

How long does it take for a NEA to be entered in the system?

HRIS makes every effort to enter NEAs within 5 business days of receipt.  If it has been more than 5 business days since a form was forwarded to HRIS and the individual still does not appear on your Departmental Roster and he/she cannot successfully pick up their Drexel accounts, please email HRIS@drexel.edu for the status.
