Drexel Leaders 2020: Making Strong Leaders Stronger

 

Drexel Leaders 2020 is the most recent addition to the Learning & Development team’s catalog of course offerings. Based on leadership best practices in higher education, the curriculum will utilize a blended learning approach, including a 360° developmental assessment, experiential exercises, workplace simulations, an online forum, and an opportunity to work with peers from across the university.

The Human Resources department, in collaboration with an advisory committee of faculty and professional staff, has planned a six-month workshop series designed for managers with five or more years management experience who currently supervise others. The program is designed to develop skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Personal and Professional Leadership Effectiveness
  • Organizational Dynamics in Academia
  • Sustaining Yourself and Your Leadership

Audience

Managers with at least five years management experience and currently supervising direct reports.

Program Requirements

Cohort groups of 20 will be admitted each September and January beginning September 2013.  Participants that are accepted to the program are encouraged to attend all sessions.  The DL2020 curriculum consists of six core components and two elective courses.

  • Team Dynamics

Module 2: Organizational Dynamics – Leadership Challenges in Academia

  • Academic Leadership
  • Organization Workshop

Module 3: Strategies for Sustaining Yourself and Your Leadership

  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Navigating Transformational Change
