Campus and University Life

A group discussion with several students sitting on a lawn

Drexel University operates three campuses in Philadelphia. Our University City Main Campus is home to most of Drexel's facilities, including the Main Building (main administrative center), our Daskalakis Athletic Center and Recreation Center, student residence halls, W.W. Hagerty library and most of the University's academic buildings. Drexel's College of Nursing and Health Professions and Dornsife School of Public Health are located at our Center City Campus, which also houses a library, bookstore and residence hall. Finally, the Queen Lane Campus is home to the Drexel University College of Medicine. A bus shuttle system connects all three campuses such that students, faculty and professional staff can travel freely between them.

Drexel University runs on both a quarter and semester system, depending on the academic college or school. Most academic programs are scheduled on the quarter system, which means a term lasts 10 weeks, and students attend classes year round. No matter what the season, Drexel's campuses host plenty of activities, ranging from athletic events (Division I Basketball) to film screenings, dance, theatre, a robotics competition, visiting scholar series or the opportunity to eat a gourmet, student-made dinner at the Academic Bistro.

Drexel's commitments to technological innovation and the environment are also part of daily University life. Members of the Drexel community have wireless access to the Internet from anywhere on campus. On sunny days, you'll frequently see professional staff and students sitting outside, working on their laptops, sipping lattes from one of several on-campus cafés. Thanks to the Drexel Green initiative, students, faculty and professional staff can now enjoy more outdoor spaces, live and work in sustainable buildings and shop at the weekly on-campus Farmer's Market.
