HR Partners with LocalJobNetwork to Improve Diversity Hiring

Drexel University believes that education should be available to everyone regardless of gender, ethnicity, race or socioeconomic background. This is one of the core principles upon which Anthony J. Drexel founded our University, and we remain committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for students, faculty, professional staff and alumni.

Human Resources (HR) takes a proactive approach to ensure diverse recruiting processes in accordance with the University goal of providing a welcoming, inclusive and respectful environment for students, faculty, professional staff.  Although Drexel currently complies with the directives set forth in the University’s Diversity Achievement Plan, our goal is to improve diversity hiring in specific underutilized employment categories and by extension, to further improve diversity hiring throughout all categories of Drexel faculty and professional staff.

To accomplish this, HR has partnered with LocalJobNetwork (LJN), a nationally known industry leader for diversity advertising, to disseminate our job openings across a broad and diverse network of candidates through various communication methods, all while ensuring compliance with Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs guidelines and remaining good stewards of the University’s financial resources. Drexel will be able to take advantage of LJN’s vast network of over 700 local employment and over 16,000 diversity websites.

LJN utilizes an expansive series of “job network” sites and a network of partners that enable them to distribute our job postings to numerous national, state and community sites with a strong representation of diversity partners. Open jobs are emailed daily through LJN’s Community and Diversity Outreach program connecting our jobs with active and passive job seekers from their community partner network. The community and diversity outreach partners receive jobs that match criteria they specifically requested and share the positions with the appropriate members of their organizations.

Best of all, colleges and departments will be able to utilize LJN’s vast network for no direct cost and all applicants received through LJN will apply seamlessly through DrexelJobs and DrexelMedJobs. HR is excited about this new partnership and the exposure that it provides to the communities Drexel wants to reach.
